Happy New Year 2012

Hi everyone

Welcome one and all to my brand spanking new blog. Most people have new years resolutions which usually get broken by Jan 2nd (seriously this nearly always happens to me). This year I decided to buck the trend by creating a new year project in the form of this blog. Please bear with me I am a bit of a technophobe so I am learning as I go along.

Happy new year 2012.  I know it seems a bit late in the day but it is Chinese new year today. So ,uh,  Happy Chinese new year to you all!. This year will be the year of the dragon.  I only know this because it is always around my birthday each year in January. plus it gives you something else to liven up a month that lets face it is not most peoples favourite.

However it has for at least the last few years always been a good month from my perspective. Last year I hit the big 30 in January. So I celebrated in style by going away with my best mates to London for the weekend.  quite frankly it was one of the best weekends of my life. we wondered around Buckingham palace, saw the phantom of the opera, went to the hard rock cafe and had a damn good time.

And this year well I am going to HOLLYWOOD!! yes that's it folks I will be going to Los Angeles later this week for 7 days. The reason for this trips is in order to see my favourite band Nightwish at their first show of 2012. When the date was announced i thought to myself, well America is not too far away its only a transatlantic flight after all. Having got a ticket for the show it then made sense if i was going all that way to make it a proper vacation and do all the parks and touristy bits too. So naturally I am. Only problem is I am going on my own so it is going to be a very interesting trip indeed...
